We seeking a dedicated and highly engaging Science Teacher to join our College temporarily on a full-time basis. This role commences immediately until 31 December, 2023. Graduates are encouraged to apply.

About the role:

Reporting to the Head of Science, the successful applicant will be a passionate and innovative Science Teacher who has well developed professional classroom practices, with the ability to positively engage and motivate students.

Your responsibilities include:

  • The ability to teach lower school Science to students in Years 7-9.
  • The ability to be innovative in current teaching methodologies, keeping up to date with current pedagogical trends in Science.
  • Ability to differentiate the Science curriculum to a range of ability groups, to ensure individual student success.
  • Ability to effectively manage a Pastoral Care Group (PCG).
  • To work collaboratively to build rapport with students, parents and all College employees to develop respectful, inclusive and positive working relationships.


What we are seeking:

  • Highly skilled and competent in the delivery of the lower school Science curriculum.
  • Experience in writing and delivering differentiated programs in Science.
  • Ability to demonstrate a strong commitment to contemporary pedagogical practices.
  • Ability to promote and support a culture where students can be the best they can be, with stretch goals.
  • Innovative, the ability to be flexible and an adaptable change agent, by embracing existing and emerging technologies and teaching practices that support contemporary student learning.
  • An awareness and appreciation for the Catholic ethos of the College.

 

Desirable:

  • The ability to teach across another learning area would be advantageous.
