The Sacred Heart Netball Club teams have plenty to celebrate following a successful Grand Final day at the Wanneroo Districts Netball Association (WDNA) competition. Both Team 2 (Year 12) and Team 4 (Years 8/9) clinched premiership victories, solidifying their dominance in their respective divisions.
Team 2 (Year 12) delivered an impressive performance, securing a decisive 40-20 win over the Sorrento Saints. Meanwhile, Team 4 (Years 8/9) fought a thrilling battle against the Western Devils, edging out their rivals in a nail-biting 28-26 victory.
While Team 8 (Year 7) fell short against Marmion with a 32-21 scoreline, they played with heart and determination in a hard-fought contest.
A special shoutout goes to Ruby Deurloo (Year 8 Trinity) from Team 4 and Addison Smith (Year 7 Kimberley) from Team 8, who were named Most Valuable Players (MVPs) in their respective finals for their outstanding performances.
Principal Mr Leo Di Gregorio and Vice Principal Mr Lucio Cicchini were on hand to support the teams from the sidelines, cheering them on alongside an enthusiastic crowd of parents, caregivers, and supporters.
With eight teams from the school entering the competition and most advancing to the Semi-finals, this season has been an overwhelming success for the club. The teams displayed exemplary sportsmanship throughout the year, proving that winning goes beyond the scoreboard.
We are incredibly proud of our students for their dedication and resilience. Whether or not they walked away as winners on the day, they have shown they are champions in every sense of the word.
A big thank you to the dedicated coaches and managers for their hard work, as well as the families and friends who consistently showed up to support the teams, rain, hail or shine.
GO HEARTS!
