It has been a crazy week for debating with Sacred Heart College 4 novice team winning their octofinals round against Presbyterian Ladies College 7 with a convincing margin of two points, following an emotional rollercoaster adjudication!

Josh Woods (Year 8), Jess McNamara (Year 7), Theres Geo (Year 7) and Kate Tunstead (Year 7) pulled together a strong and well-coordinated argument on the topic: 'We should ban gendered marketing for children’s toys'.

They will go on to debate against a team from St Hilda’s Anglican Girls School next week, arguing that 'We regret the culture of fad dieting'. This is the equal furthest a Sacred Heart team has reached in the Western Australian Debating League, and we are wishing them all the best for the quarterfinals!
