We are seeking a highly skilled and passionate Visual Arts Teacher to join our College. This is a full-time, 1-year contract position as one of our team members will be on leave. This role commences in Term 1, 2023.


About the role:

Reporting to the Director of The Arts, you will be a passionate, dynamic and creative Visual Arts Teacher. You will inspire and nurture our students to develop their creative abilities and talents through Visual Art.

 

Responsibilities as a Visual Arts Teacher:

  • Ability to teach the Visual Arts General Curriculum.
  • Ability to teach Years 11 and Year 12 Visual Arts ATAR would be advantageous.
  • Ability to be innovative in your teaching methodologies, keeping up to date with current pedagogical trends in Visual Art teaching.
  • Ability to demonstrate technical competence in a wide range of ‘master’ art techniques, such as (but not limited to) clay, sculpture, digital art and painting.
  • Ability and willingness to host an after school ‘Art Club’ for students and staff members.
  • Ability to collaborate with other Art areas such as the performing arts to develop cross-curricular projects.
  • Ability to work collaboratively to build rapport with students, parents and all College employees.
  • Develop respectful, inclusive and positive working relationships.
  • An awareness and appreciation for the Catholic ethos of the College.

What we are seeking:

  • A highly passionate, dedicated and creative Visual Arts Teacher.
  • A team player, with the initiative to proactively step in and support team members and students.
  • A highly organised individual with the ability to plan lessons and coordinate their workday effectively with a clear structure to meet the learning needs of each student.
  • Experience in teaching Visual Arts, including the ability to develop course curriculum, conduct reporting and assessment data.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet the changing needs of students, with the ability to respond to a fast-paced working environment.
  • Excellent ability to communicate to students and parents with purpose and meaning.

Desirable

  • The ability to teach HASS/Humanities would be advantageous.
  • The ability to teach Religious Education would be advantageous..
