We are seeking a full time, highly skilled Engineering Teacher to join our College, commencing Term 1, 2023, this is permanent position.


About the role:

The successful applicant will be a passionate, committed and inspiring Engineering Teacher, with the dedication to continuing the College’s success in Engineering. It is essential that the successful applicant has a willingness and desire to actively participate and lead extracurricular activities for engineering students. This role reports to the Head of Technologies.

 

Your responsibilities include:

  • Teaching Engineering (mechatronics) across Years 7-12, including Year 11-12 Engineering ATAR.
  • Annual participation in state and national Robocup competition.
  • Leading extracurricular actives at the College such as: Robocup, Tekheads and the Science and Engineering Challenge.
  • Maintaining and further developing the partnership the College has with various Universities.
  • The ability to teach CAD design, prototyping, modelling and 3D printing.
  • The ability to effectively manage a pastoral care group (PCG).
  • Responsibility for the Engineering cost centre, as part of the department’s ongoing budget management.
  • To work collaboratively to build rapport with students, parents and all College employees to develop respectful, inclusive and positive working relationships.

 

What we are seeking:

  • Passionate, dedicated and engaging Engineering teacher who demonstrates a willingness to continually grow the College’s success in Engineering, by actively leading and participating in extracurricular activities.
  • Competent in the writing and delivery of Technologies curriculum to teach Engineering to all year levels, including year 11 -12 Engineering ATAR.
  • An innovative Engineering teacher who is willing to build, trial and test projects prior to the students constructing the project. An awareness of emerging and future industry trends is desirable.
  • Innovative, the ability to be flexible and an adaptable change agent, by embracing existing and emerging technologies and teaching practices that support contemporary student learning.
  • An awareness and appreciation for the Catholic ethos of the College.

 

Desirable

  • The ability to teach other Technologies subjects, and or across another learning area would be advantageous.
