We are seeking a dedicated and highly engaging English Teacher to join our College full-time in Term 3 to replace a staff member taking Long Service Leave.
About the role:
Reporting to the Head of English, the successful applicant will be a passionate teacher with experience in teaching English General. The successful applicant will be a dynamic and innovative educator who engages and encourages student learning. The successful applicant will be an integral member of the English team and demonstrate a track record of supporting academic success.
Our English team are passionate, avid readers and writers who encourage students to have deep connections to literature. They take great pride in promoting and encouraging our students to grow and foster lifelong skills in reading and writing.
Responsibilities as an English Teacher:
- Ability to teach English General to Year 11 students.
- Ability to teach lower school English.
- Ability to be flexible and adaptable in the implementation of differentiation in the classroom.
- Willingness to collaborate on creating new programmes of work across a range of years and lead a subject year level teaching team.
- A willingness to co-coordinate courses of study in various year groups.
- Ability to use innovative teaching methodologies, keeping up to date with current pedagogical trends in English.
- Work collaboratively to build rapport with students, parents and all College employees to develop respectful, inclusive and positive working relationships.
What we are seeking:
- A strong passion for creative writing and reading and the willingness to encourage students to develop and grow their own love for reading.
- Ability to teach lower school English.
- Experience in designing and delivering differentiated units of work.
- A familiarity with evidence-based strategies to improve literacy outcomes.
- Ability to use technology and digital processing software in the classroom to enhance student learning.
- An awareness and appreciation for the Catholic ethos of the College.
