About the role:
Reporting to the Principal and as a member of the Executive Team, College Advisory Committee and Finance Committee, the Vice Principal will play a crucial role in leading Sacred Heart College’s academic programs and pastoral care programs.
The Vice Principal must be a visible witness to all members of the community of our Catholic faith.
Contributing strategically to the long-term vision of Sacred Heart College, the Vice Principal will work collaboratively and in consultation with key staff to ensure high standards of behaviour are embedded in all aspects of College life, setting the tone for a positive and supportive culture at the College.
The Vice Principal will have a 0.2 FTE teaching allocation and will be required from time to time to fulfill the duties of the Principal in their absence.
The position is an Award Free Contract and the remuneration for this role is based on the Catholic Education of Western Australia salary schedule – Category nine. The successful applicant will be offered a 10-year contract, commencing 1 January 2024.
Responsibilities for this role include:
Leadership and Strategy
- Inspire and motivate staff to work together to achieve Sacred Heart College’s strategic vision.
- Lead College teams to set the tone of the Sacred Heart College’s culture.
Education
- Oversee academic programs and embed Sacred Heart College as a leader in development of pedological programs that support and leverage students’ abilities and skills.
- Oversee Sacred Heart College’s pastoral care programs for students. Actively collaborates with key stake holders at the College to continue to refine processes to support students to be the best they can be.
Community Relations
- The ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with student, staff, families and extended community members and gain their trust and support.

Essential:
- Is a strong role model of our Catholic faith and gives witness of our faith to all members of our College community.
- Demonstrates a strong understanding of the Sacred Heart College charism associated with the Sisters of Our Lady of the Missions and the Catholic Ethos of the College.
- Undergraduate degree in a specific discipline with a Graduate Diploma of Education (Secondary) or Bachelor of Education.
- Master’s degree in education.
- Accreditation to Lead.
